Yamaha Marks Key Anniversaries and Introduces New Products at Pasic 2012
INDIANAPOLIS — Yamaha is celebrating 26 years as a Percussive Arts Society member and a corporate sponsor and will be rolling out exciting new gear and promotions at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) 2012. The event, which celebrates the promotion of percussion education, research, performance and appreciation for the percussive arts, will be held October 31 – November 3 in Austin, Texas.
The event also marks the 125th anniversary of Yamaha, along with the 45th anniversary of Yamaha Drums, which will showcase new products. Yamaha Drum Artist Dave Garibaldi will be inducted into the PAS Hall of Fame and Yamaha will present its annual Lifetime Achievement Award and announce the winner at the Artist Breakfast.
New products include the DTX450K and the DTX400K. Yamaha will also display the DTX-M12, the new HexRackII, Custom Marching drums, the Club Custom drum set and a PHX drum kit, as well as a wide range of Marimbas, Vibes, Xylophones and Bells.
Yamaha Drum Set Artists that are scheduled to appear include Cliff Almond, Tom Brechtlein, Ndugu Chancler, Steve Gadd, David Garibaldi, Ari Hoenig, Marko Marcinko, Pedrito Martinez, Joe McCarthy and Mark Walker in addition to Yamaha electric drum artist Bob Terry. Yamaha percussion artists Thad Anderson, John H. Beck, Jefferson Brant, Christopher Davis, Dennis DeLucia, Brad Dutz, Dave Gerhart, John Lane, Brad Meyer, Andrew Spencer, Benjamin Toth and Brian West are also slated to perform. Yamaha International Artists scheduled to appear include Jacques Hostettler and Nicholas Suter, along with Nicholas Ormrod, Nebojsa Jovan Zivkovic and Nick Papador.
