Yamaha Impresses At 2012 Year-End Music Product Industry Awards
BUENA PARK, Calif. — Earning a continued vote of confidence from the music products industry, Yamaha has once again prevailed in the industry's leading award round up.
For 20 years, Musical Merchandise Review (MMR) magazine's Dealers' Choice Awards have honored the finest products and companies in the music products industry. For an unprecedented twelfth year in a row, a Yamaha product won the prestigious Product of the Year category. The AvantGrand hybrid piano took the top honor for the second consecutive year, while the Disklavier had swept the category for the previous ten years. The magazine also named the AvantGrand as the Pro Digital Piano line of the year.
For the third straight year, the magazine recognized Yamaha's Band & Orchestral Division as Product Line of the Year, which it also won in 1998, 1999, 2002 and 2003.
The company's web site, usa.yamaha.com, also earned distinction as Website of the Year.
In addition, Yamaha received two Music Inc. magazine Supplier Excellence Awards. Every year since the awards were first bestowed in 2003, music retailers, along with Music Inc.'s editorial staff, have recognized Yamaha's service and product quality.
In addition to earning the 2012 Supplier Excellence Award for Service to Dealers, the company also received two 2012 Product Excellence Awards. Building on Yamaha's tradition of innovation, the AvantGrand hybrid piano and the THR 10 amplifier were both recognized for product excellence. Both models define new categories, by introducing consumers to new ways of experiencing music making and sound reproduction.
"As Yamaha marks its 125th anniversary, these awards give us yet another wonderful reason to celebrate," said Rick Young, Senior Vice President, Yamaha Corporation of America. "Honors such as these strengthen our resolve to continue providing the industry's finest products and services."
