ANAHEIM, Calif — At the 2013 NAMM show, Yamaha Keyboard Division will introduce Disklavier Music Network™, a multimedia service that allows owners of enabled E3 and Mark IV Disklavier performance reproducing pianos to receive streamed live concerts and musical broadcasts, as well as on-demand entertainment and educational content, directly to their instrument. The service includes both DisklavierTV™ (streaming audio, video & MIDI) and DisklavierRadio™ (streaming MIDI).

DisklavierTV™ is powered by Yamaha's industry-leading RemoteLive™ Technology, which enables a pianist to perform live in one location and have his or her exact keystrokes and pedal movements transmitted live and in real time to other networked Disklavier pianos anywhere in the world. More than 25 channels of DisklavierRadio™ will stream a large and varied library of pre-recorded music performances, captured in studios and concert venues, with MIDI data that will also play connected Disklaviers in any location.

Broadcasting perfectly synchronized video and audio plus MIDI data from a single location to multiple locations, Yamaha's Disklavier and RemoteLive™ platform are redefining how piano performance and education are shared and experienced.

"Given the resounding success of RemoteLive™, DisklavierTV™ is a logical next step in the evolution of this technology," says Yamaha Disklavier Marketing Manager Jim Levesque. "Our beta testing has demonstrated that people prefer to experience and enjoy home programming on their own terms – much like on-demand television programming," he continues. "To fulfill this need, we're laser focused on expanding the quantity and variety of our on-demand content that will be available any time day or night."

As Yamaha winds down its beta testing before the official April 2013 DisklavierTV™ launch date, a wide variety of on-demand performances will be added to the library. These will encompass artists across diverse genres. In addition to the on-demand content (available 24/7), Yamaha will be offering several LIVE broadcasts from exciting locations around the U.S. The first global DisklavierTV™ broadcast will take place on January 25, when the legendary Yamaha Artist Elton John, will perform as part of an exclusive, private concert in celebration of Yamaha's 125th anniversary. Yamaha's RemoteLive™ platform will extend the excitement of this event to audiences anywhere around the world who will be able to hear Elton John play the Disklavier in their locations.

Yamaha is also developing the Disklavier Education Network™ (DEN) with specialized content created by Yamaha and educational institutions that will be shared with members of the service.

Disklavier Music Network™ is exclusively offered to customers in the United States. Existing DisklavierRadio subscribers will now enjoy DisklavierTV™ at no additional cost. The subscription fee for new customers is $19.95/month or $199.95/year, which includes both the Radio and TV services. The official launch of DisklavierTV™ is slated for April 2013.

Previously offered content has included a variety of performances across all music genres, including selected performances from the Monterey Jazz Festival and the Newport Music Festival. Beyond leaving audiences delighted and stunned, RemoteLive™ technology has also drawn media attention from The Wall Street Journal, ABC News, Time Magazine and New York 1 News.
