Yamaha Co-Sponsors the 2013 McDonald’s Choir Showcase: Company Provides Instruments For Event Backline

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha co-sponsored the sixth annual McDonald's Choir Showcase at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center in South Carolina.

This year's showcase featured nine finalist groups of church gospel choirs, praise and worship teams and Christian contemporary groups and a headlining performance by national recording artists Tamela Mann and Sherri Moffett-Jones. As a sponsor, Yamaha provided the instrument backline for the event by loaning the Motif XF6, Motif XF7 and Motif XF8 synthesizers and new Live Custom drum kit. In addition, the company gave away a new Motif XF8 to Grace Metropolitan Choir at Adams AME Church in North Charleston.

"As the world's largest musical instrument manufacturer, Yamaha is involved with every style of music and our equipment is found in houses of worship across the country," said Athan Billias, Marketing Manager, Pro Audio & Combo Division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "McDonald's does a wonderful job showcasing these talented musical ensembles and our local Charleston dealer partner, Fox Music House Inc. made it easy for us to sponsor this great event and all the people at the McDonald's showcase were a pleasure to work with."
