Yamaha’s Affordable R-S201 2-channel Receiver Introduces Hi-Fi Music Enjoyment to a Whole New Audience

Yamaha R-S201 2-channel Receiver

BUENA PARK, Calif., October 1, 2013 — Yamaha today introduced the R-S201, a 2-channel receiver that delivers the exceptional Hi-Fi sound quality for which the company has long been known. Designed for a wider audience than ever before, the RS-201 features Yamaha’s signature Natural Sound concept and high sound quality circuit design, along with a powerful 100 watts per channel to reveal every detail of recording artists’ performances. The R-S201 will be available this month for a consumer friendly MSRP of $179.95.

Yamaha created the Hi-Fi audio category in 1954 with the introduction of its first high fidelity turntable. As a long-standing leader in professional audio, musical instrument, and home entertainment products, Yamaha believes it is in a unique position to offer an affordable 2-channel receiver to consumers who may not have considered, or thought they could afford, premium audio gear for their homes.

"The R-S201 is designed to reintroduce the Hi-Fi audio concept to a wider audience that is listening to compressed music files on mobile devices for convenience,” said Bob Goedken, general manager, Yamaha Corporation of America, AV Division. “While portability has its benefits, the R-S201 is for those who want to really connect with their favorite artists, perhaps via lossless music files, when listening in their homes.”

The R-S201 employs Yamaha's Natural Sound concept that embodies scrupulous care in circuit design and overall construction. This approach effectively reproduces all genres of music as it was recorded by the artists in the studio or on the stage.

Maintaining the look and feel of a traditional audiophile component, the R-S201 has a simple, yet sophisticated design. Its elegant hairline finish and uncluttered positioning of knobs and buttons harmonize beautifully with other Hi-Fi equipment.

The R-S201 has 40 station FM/AM tuning, a speaker selector and speaker terminals to supply audio to two rooms, an easy-to-use remote control and a headphone terminal for private listening.
