Yamaha R-N500 Network Hi-Fi Receiver Brings Powerful Connectivity to the Audiophile Listening Experience

R-N500 Network Hi-Fi Receiver

BUENA PARK, Calif., October 15, 2013 — Yamaha today introduced the R-N500 network stereo receiver that delivers unsurpassed Hi-Fi sound reproduction from a wide range of analog and digital sources to the most demanding music fans. It provides consumers with AirPlay® so they can wirelessly stream music stored on their iOS devices or iTunes®, as well as Pandora® for access to seemingly limitless online content. Beyond this, USB and DLNA® connectivity lets users play their favorite songs from many other portable devices and components throughout the home.

The easy-to-operate NETWORK PLAYER CONTROLLER app for smartphones and tablets enable listeners to seamlessly operate and stream music to the R-N500.

The innovation and craftsmanship in the design of the R-N500 reflects the company’s renowned expertise in professional audio, musical instrument and home Hi-Fi products. Yamaha, which has been a leading force in the Hi-Fi audio category since the introduction of its first high fidelity turntable in 1954, said the new receiver was created by those obsessed with sound and for those who just love great music from virtually any source.

"The R-N500 is a connected music hub that provides the exceptional sonic purity and a classic appearance that more than meets the demands of today’s audio enthusiasts," said Bob Goedken, general manager, Yamaha Corporation of America, AV Division. "Music of any genre in any format – including CDs, vinyl and high resolution files – is delivered with the best possible sound reproduction."

Key audio quality technologies and features of the R-N500 include Pure Direct mode that enables signals to bypass all but the most basic audio circuitry within the unit to deliver the purest possible high-fidelity sound. The unit is also equipped with digital audio input, with both optical and coaxial terminals, for receiving audio from a TV or Blu-ray Disc™ player, respectively. This audio is kept in the digital domain for pristine dynamic sound from either entertainment source.

The R-N500's simple, elegant design features an aluminum front panel with a richly textured black hairline finish and sturdy control knobs that reflect the same luxurious construction Yamaha employs for its top-end Hi-Fi components.
