Yamaha Celebrates Three Decades At PASIC 2013

INDIANAPOLIS — Students, teachers, artists, professional musicians and other members of the Percussive Arts Society will attend the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) 2013 to see, hear and experience what's new in the world of drums and percussion. This year's event, which celebrates the promotion of percussion education, research, performance and appreciation for the percussive arts, takes place at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, November 13 – 16.

Yamaha, the only company to manufacture marching percussion, acoustic drum sets and electronic drums, returns to PASIC as a member and corporate sponsor, marking three decades as an exhibitor by showcasing exciting new gear, promotions and performances.

For the first time, Yamaha will exhibit an extensive display featuring a marching front ensemble with percussion, acoustic drums, electronic drums, synthesizers and sound reinforcement equipment. Also on display will be hybrid drum kits, which combine acoustic and electronic elements, including DTX pads and modules along with the DTX-MULTI 12 electronic percussion pad.

Other show highlights from Yamaha include Yamaha Percussion Artist Salvatore Rabbio's induction into the PAS Hall of Fame, the presentation of the Yamaha/Terry Gibbs Scholarship and an appearance by Yamaha Drum Set Artist Dave Weckl in celebration of his 30th anniversary as a Yamaha Artist.

Yamaha will debut many new marching and percussion products at the show, including new marching snare drums and timpani models, the Live Custom and Absolute Hybrid drum sets along with the exciting new DTX502 Series electronic kits.

More than 30 Yamaha Artists will host clinics, panel discussions, labs and live performances, including John Beck, Andrew Bliss, Dominick Cuccia, Dennis DeLucia, Ian Grom, Donny Gruendler, Jonathan Haas, Ralph Humphrey, John Lane, Iain Moyer, Morris Palter, Sherry Rubins, David Stanoch, Benjamin Toth and Jon Weber.
