(April 28, 2015) – Yamaha Corporation of America, AV Division, today introduced the versatile and powerful RX-V379 5.1-channel AV receiver that boasts Bluetooth® for effortless wireless music streaming and HDCP 2.2 compliant HDMI® connectivity for the full enjoyment of 4K video content. This entry-level model to the company's RX-V Series receiver line provides the latest technologies and elevated home theater experiences to a wider audience of consumers.
The RX-V379 features a full discrete amp configuration that drives enhanced audio for movie and TV viewing. Built-in Bluetooth functionality enables users to easily access, stream and enjoy their favorite music wirelessly from their smartphones and other devices. Further enhancing the quality of streamed audio is Yamaha's proprietary Compressed Music Enhancer, which has been optimized to reproduce vivid and lively sound from Bluetooth audio transmissions.

The RX-V379 offers 4K Ultra HD video pass-through via HDMI® 2.0 4K / 60p 4:2:0 (4 inputs/1 output) for watching content in this super high-resolution format. The model's HDCP 2.2 compatibility enables it to work with the many 4K streaming devices and Blu-ray Disc™ players that support this copyright protection standard, as well as the many more that are expected to be introduced in the future. It also offers a full complement of HD Audio format decoding, including Dolby® TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio™, Dolby® Digital Plus and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio™.
Yamaha's exclusive YPAO™ automatic system calibration optimizes speaker placement to create the best possible listening experiences for all content.
For those who may not have a dedicated home theater room or the ability to place multiple speakers throughout their spaces for watching movies and video in surround sound, Yamaha offers exclusive virtual speaker technologies. Virtual CINEMA FRONT lets consumers place all five speakers at the front of the listening area to achieve excellent surround sound performance, while Virtual CINEMA DSP creates a virtual surround sound field from only two standard stereo speakers.
