MusicCast WX-010 Wireless Speaker and WXA-50 Amplifier

BUENA PARK, Calif. (September 13, 2016) – Yamaha expanded its lineup of high-performance audio products featuring MusicCast wireless multiroom-audio technology with the shipment of the compact WX-010 wireless speaker, WXA-50 streaming amplifier, WXC-50 streaming preamplifier, R-N402 Hi-Fi network receiver and YSP-2700 sound bar.

The products are available today through authorized Yamaha dealers and  Yamaha.com, joining other MusicCast-enabled products already available, including AV receivers, sound bars, wireless speakers and more. Yamaha now has a total of 36 models that are part of the MusicCast ecosystem.

The WX-010 speaker ($199.95 MSRP) is a more compact alternative to the larger WX-030, bringing big sound to small rooms and to locations with limited shelf or counter space. It's the most affordable Yamaha MusicCast product to date.

The WXA-50 amplifier ($499.95 MSRP) and WXC-50 preamplifier ($349.95 MSRP) are compact options for music enthusiasts who want to integrate high-performance audio products that they already own into a home-wide MusicCast system. The WXA-50 amplifier drives any pair of wired speakers, while the WXC-50 preamplifier adds MusicCast to such legacy audio products as AV receivers and amplifiers.

The R-N402 ($449.95 MSRP) brings together the legendary Yamaha craftsmanship that has led the Hi-Fi movement for more than a half-century with the freedom of multiroom music streaming from high-resolution audio sources, music services and smart devices at an affordable price.

The YSP-2700 ($1,199.95 MSRP) 7.1-channel sound bar joins two other MusicCast sound bars to provide more MusicCast options to consumers with varying budgets.

"With our expanded lineup, Yamaha is creating more opportunities for music enthusiasts to bring MusicCast's versatility and high-resolution audio performance to more rooms of the house," said Bob Goedken, general manager, AV division, Yamaha Corporation of America.

MusicCast distributes music stored on networked computers, smartphones and tablets to MusicCast-enabled audio products in multiple rooms of a house over a home's Wi-Fi network. With MusicCast, a mobile device doubles as a remote control that lets the user select songs from their music library and direct them to the room or rooms of their choice. MusicCast products also stream music wirelessly from the cloud, thanks to built-in music sources such as Pandora®, Spotify Connect, Rhapsody®, and SiriusXM Internet Radio as well as thousands of internet radio stations.

Here are some key product features:

WX-010: The speaker delivers outsized performance despite its diminutive size, measuring only 4.8" W x 6.3" H x 5.1" D thanks to a clever driver configuration. Dual opposing passive radiators on each side complement a front 3.5-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter. Two of the speakers can be stereo paired to deliver a wide stereo image.

WXA-50, WXC-50: Both 2-channel models feature a compact aluminum chassis measuring only 8.4" W x 2" H x 9.6" D. They can be placed horizontally or vertically. Both also feature ESS digital-to-analog converters (DACs) used in high-end Yamaha AV receivers for clear, detailed music reproduction.

Both offer professional-grade connectivity and control features, making them ideal for custom-integration applications.

R-N402: The 2-channel network receiver offers 100 W per channel with an advanced circuit design that delivers the company's renowned natural sound listening experience. The elegant brushed finish on the black aluminum faceplate and the logically placed operating buttons and volume knobs accent the look of the receiver to keep operation simple and the aesthetic sophisticated.

YSP-2700: The ultra-slim sound bar features proprietary Digital Sound Projector technology to deliver 7.1-channel surround sound without cluttering up a room with seven full-range speakers. Each of the sound bar's 16 embedded drivers emits a discrete sound beam that reflects off walls to envelop listeners in surround sound.

The sound bar is equipped with a wireless subwoofer. Three HDMI inputs and one HDMI output pass through 4K Ultra HD content with high dynamic range (HDR).
