Yamaha Seeks Applicants For Prestigious Percussion Internship Program

BUENA PARK, Calif. (September 26, 2016) – As part of its long-standing commitment to music education and career training, Yamaha Corporation of America is seeking talented and accomplished applicants for its world-class percussion internship program. The successful candidate will gain invaluable music product industry experience, while providing marketing and artist relations support to the percussion department of the Yamaha Band & Orchestral division. The position is located in the company's Buena Park, California headquarters.

The intern selected for this engagement will also enjoy the unique opportunity to help the percussion department present its new products at the company's massive presence at The NAMM Show, the world's preeminent music product tradeshow, to be held in Anaheim, California, in January 2017.

Last year, more than 100,000 attendees from across the globe gathered at NAMM to explore products from more than 1,700 exhibitors showcasing over 6,000 brands. Beyond sampling the world's leading music products, innovations and technology, attendees also enjoyed a host of educational events and networking opportunities.

"Working with the world's largest music product manufacturer at one of the world's largest tradeshows is an exceptionally rare opportunity for anyone starting out in the music products industry," says Troy C. Wollwage, percussion marketing manager, Band & Orchestral division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "From coordinating show logistics and supporting special events, to helping build the vast Yamaha exhibit, this internship will be rich with unique experiences and learning opportunities."

Currently enrolled college students and recent graduates with a music business, music education, or arts management background are encouraged to apply. While knowledge of a musical instrument is helpful, it is not required for the role. This paid internship runs through late Winter. To apply, please visit: http://4wrd.it/YAMAHAINTERN

For nearly 30 years, Yamaha has remained committed to training and supporting people interested in building music-related careers. The Yamaha Band & Orchestral division is responsible for marketing, sales and research and development for strings, wind instruments, concert and marching percussion, in addition to education initiatives for school music programs throughout the United States.
