New RIVAGE PM Firmware Improves Immersive Workflow And Live Control Options Direct Immersive Panning Control and More For Faster, More Flexible Working
January 29, 2026, Hamamatsu, Japan, Yamaha has announced the latest firmware for its flagship RIVAGE PM digital mixing systems, which includes a variety of powerful new features.
The new V7.0 firmware improves the workflow for immersive audio, delivering a complete immersive solution for live sound, as well as other new features which allow sound engineers to work faster in response to requests from artists and clients.
Mix engineers can now control the immersive panning of Sound xR Image directly from the RIVAGE PM digital mixing system screen. Formerly known as AFC Image* and now part of the company’s Sound xR portfolio, Sound xR Image is Yamaha’s object-based immersive audio system that lets users position acoustic images precisely within a space. With RIVAGE PM V7.0 the system connects seamlessly to Yamaha’s DME7 or NEXO DME10 signal processors, making immersive mixes faster and more convenient.
The new firmware also supports ADM-OSC, an industry initiative designed to standardize the real-time exchange of object-based audio positioning metadata in live production and broadcast environments. Support for d&b audiotechnik’s Soundscape immersive sound system has been added.
Also included is a new external device control function, which allows RIVAGE PM to transmit Open Sound Control (OSC) messages as an OSC client.
New end-user driven functions include DCA Sends on Fader, as well as Mix to Mix, allowing users to create complex but flexible audio routing. The Shure SLX-D wireless microphone system has also been added to Dante Supported Devices.
Also introduced in V7.0 is the new Ping Pong Drive plug-in, a unique delay effect with drive and width parameters. The updated DynamicEQ6 now features a history graph and provides more intuitive operation with advanced GUI operation and metering display. Additionally programming precise Recall Safe/Focus/Global Paste settings is simplified with granular parameter options for mix/matrix buses.
“We believe that adding these new features with V7.0 firmware will make RIVAGE PM the core of more applications than ever before,” says Thomas Hemery, Senior General Manager at Yamaha's Professional Solutions Division. "By making Yamaha's immersive solutions easier to control and adding powerful new features for engineers, we hope to continue making the live entertainment environment even more attractive for audiences."
RIVAGE PM firmware Version 7.0 is now available as a free download.
