The braces, back posts, frame and soundboard form a unified structure that allows vibrations to travel efficiently throughout the instrument, producing rich, clear resonance and a musical response to every touch that define the Yamaha grand piano experience.

The beautiful, resonant woods that make up every Yamaha grand pianos get better with age. Yamaha seasons the frames, braces and tone woods in each GC Series grand to adapt to the temperature, humidity and environment where it is to be played. This seasoning helps support tuning stability, lasting reliability and full resonance in each unique location.

Building upon Yamaha’s renowned grand piano heritage, the GC Series action is crafted entirely in-house, where every component is precision-engineered for fluid control, expressive consistency and a natural, reliable touch that endures over time.

Yamaha crafts each GC Series frame at our state-of-the-art Iwata Foundry using advanced V-Pro technology for exceptional durability, responsiveness and musicality. This proprietary method creates a frame that supports extraordinary string tension while enhancing the richness, brilliance and vibrational character of each note.
