Ryo Iijima, the flutist who collaborated on development
Using the flute assist attachment allows students to focus on fingering and the proper way to hold the instrument. When not using it, they can work deliberately on producing sounds. Clearly dividing each of these themes allows students to progress faster. The ASTFL is also a particularly useful tool for intermediate and advanced players who have trouble playing notes around high C, where they tend to strain too hard. They can use it to refocus on their airflow.
Instructors may want to keep one in the classroom as a useful tool for a variety of situations—I am sure it will soon prove its worth.
