The unique Yamaha Integrated Bell Acoustic System offers the best of both worlds—a high-quality digital sound combined with the tactile feel of an acoustic wind instrument. This innovative system includes a speaker unit and enclosure, an acoustic pipe, and a real brass bell. The YDS-150 responds to your breath through the mouthpiece, digitally generating sound that drives the speaker and causes the brass bell to resonate. The result is an instrument that breathes, moves, and vibrates with your playing, authentically reproducing the feel of an acoustic saxophone while offering the versatility of a digital instrument.

To ensure a natural and comfortable playing experience, the YDS-150 features a mouthpiece modeled after that of an acoustic saxophone. It’s also easily removable for convenient maintenance.

The key layout is based on Yamaha’s acoustic saxophones, providing seamless usability. You can also change fingering using a dedicated app.

The bell is made of the same high-quality brass used to make Yamaha acoustic saxophones. Drawing on our extensive experience and history of crafting acoustic wind instruments, we designed this bell to reproduce the tactile feeling of playing an acoustic saxophone. The resonance of the bell sends vibrations through the entire instrument, letting you truly feel the music as you play.

The built-in breath sensor responds to the intensity of your breath, giving you precise control over both the volume and the tone of your sound.

We teamed up with professional performers to sample the sounds of Yamaha acoustic saxophones—soprano, alto, tenor and baritone—meticulously recorded in whole tones, so that you can enjoy a natural sound without any hint of incongruity.

The YDS-150 allows you to effortlessly adjust the tonality, range, and timbre of each saxophone type—soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone. Each saxophone type offers a range of Voices tailored to different playing techniques and musical genres, from vibrato and jazz to classical. With a total of 73 instrument sounds, including 56 saxophone Voices, the YDS-150 provides the versatility to perform authentically across a wide variety of musical styles.

The YDS-150 comes equipped with an auxiliary input terminal for connecting devices such as smartphones, allowing you to connect to an external audio source* to feel like you’re playing in an ensemble.
