The Standard Series 4C clarinet mouthpiece was designed to make it easier for less experienced players to produce a great sound right away. The medium-small tip opening works well with reeds in the 2 to 3 strength range, giving a clear and focused tone. This is the mouthpiece size included with new Yamaha student clarinets.

Standard Series 5C ‐ YAC CL5C
The Standard Series 5C clarinet mouthpiece has a moderately open tip that allows a player with a stronger embouchure to produce a bigger and fuller sound. This mouthpiece can be paired with stiffer reeds for better consistency, or softer reeds for more volume and tone flexibility.
