Trombone Mouthpieces

Though it’s a fact little known outside professional circles, Yamaha has been producing special custom-made mouthpieces for hundreds of the world’s top players at our R&D Ateliers for many many years. These artists were not satisfied with any commercial models available. They came to us because they had confidence that we had the skill needed to create their own ‘dream’ mouthpiece. The artists knew exactly the kind of sound and response they wanted, and our technicians knew how to deliver it. Increasingly more colleagues and students of these artists began to ask us for copies of the mouthpieces, so we decided to offer a select lineup of them in a new Signature Series. Now others can share in the results of this great cooperative effort between artist and artisan.

GP Series has been created especially for professionals who require superior quality from their mouthpiece. The GP Series features an innovative shape and extra-heavy gold-plate finish for players who prefer a focused, concentrated tonal core.

Although not widely known outside professional circles, Yamaha has been creating custom mouthpieces for hundreds of the world’s top musicians for many years through our R&D Ateliers. These artists, unsatisfied with the available commercial options, turned to us because they trusted Yamaha’s expertise to craft their ideal “dream” mouthpiece. Drawing from their extensive careers, these players knew exactly the sound and response they desired, and our skilled technicians, with their deep experience in instrument crafting, delivered precisely that.

As word spread, more colleagues and students of these top musicians began requesting copies of these custom mouthpieces. To meet this growing demand, we decided to introduce a select lineup in the new Signature Series, allowing others to experience the remarkable collaboration between artist and artisan.
