Developed in collaboration with Eijiro Nakagawa.

A multi-faceted trombonist, Eijiro Nakagawa made his recording debut at the age of 15. Since then, he has established a strong career through live performances in jazz, classical music, and other genres, as well as recordings for films and television dramas. He also demonstrates his broad talents as a composer and arranger through projects including Samurai Brass, the brass octet he leads.

Body

Body

All outer body components are made of yellow brass. The one-piece bell delivers a sound with a clearly defined core while retaining a warm, flexible tonal character, giving players a high degree of expressive freedom. Even at fortissimo, the instrument offers ample headroom without feeling limited in volume. The sound also blends naturally with a larger bore trombones.

Slide

Slide

The lightweight slide offers more freedom of expression in the upper register. The quick response maintains a rich resonance even at pianissimo, allowing confident, unrestrained performance both with and without a microphone.

Mouthpiece

Mouthpiece

The YSL-895EN includes the EIJIRO signature mouthpiece. It has the smallest inner rim diameter among current Yamaha models and is characterized by a vibrant tone with a quick, lively response.
