YOB-831
Reed Receiver (Solid Nickel Silver)
The reed receiver has been redesigned with increased weight and volume to enhance overall resonance. The socket features a slightly larger internal diameter for easier reed insertion.
Bell Design
The bell has been carefully redesigned with a revised exterior contour, internal diameter, and flare, while the bell ring has been omitted to create a thicker, more resonant design. This bell produces a powerful tone rich in overtones, with a big, round quality ideal for symphonic performances.
Revised B Key Pad Cup
The B key pad cup plays a crucial role in shaping the overall tone of the oboe. In this model, the pad cup features extra thickness, and the slit is positioned on the underside. This design reduces C# noise and improves both high-range playability and overall tone. Additionally, the B-A# trill lever has been adjusted to match the height of the B key, enhancing playability.
Philadelphia D Key Adjustment Screw
This screw allows for fine adjustments of high D playability.
A Philadelphia D key is linked to the low C key, allowing adjustments of the D double ring key opening. In previous models, only the low C and E keys are linked with opening adjustment.
B Resonance Key
The B resonance key is included to improve the sound of low B. This key can be disengaged via the adjustment screw if desired, but the mechanism is designed so that the resonance key always opens when the lowest Bb is played.
Forked F Resonance Key Adjustment Screw
This adjustment screw allows adjustment of the opening as well as complete disengagement of the auxiliary key if desired.
Adjustable Thumb Rest
The thumb rest offers both vertical and angle adjustments, allowing the performer to achieve the most comfortable thumb fit and position. A strap ring is also included to support an optimal playing posture.
Tone Hole Design
The tone hole design has been updated to optimize breath resistance and resonance, while also making conservatoire fingering more accessible.
Deluxe Multi-Functional Case Bag
Oboists often need to carry a variety of reed adjustment tools and accessories. The redesigned pockets are spacious enough to accommodate everything required for a rehearsal. An A4-sized holder on the back can store a B4 music file vertically, while the shoulder strap and handles provide the flexibility to carry the bag either vertically or horizontally.
Handworked keys
Skilled artisans hand-braze and adjust all keys to optimize the balance of each instrument.
Bore Design
The highly polished bore is designed for excellent intonation, balance, and resistance.
Hand-tapered, undercut tone holes
Each tone hole is hand-tapered and undercut for precise, even intonation and response.
Nickel-silver bell ring
Increases density of the bell for improved response and tone.
